Honestly, I don't even want this movie to happen in the first place, it's completely unnecessary. Nearly every X-Men movie has been a Wolverine movie anyway, and there have already been two solo Wolverine movies as it is. I've had enough of him, of his version of him anyway. I'm looking forward to the days when I can watch an X-Men movie without Hugh Jackman popping up in it, and if he rears his head in Deadpool... for fucks sake...
I want to see an entirely new Wolverine, who is an R rated Wolverine, and a Wolverine who wears his costume and is more in tune with the character of Wolverine. More blood, more swearing, more violence, all that good stuff.
Now there's talk of his last outing being Old Man Logan, which sounds like a fucking disaster to me. For a start Fox can't even use 95% of the characters in that arc, it would have to be R, and I feel like this version of Wolverine has firmly planted himself on the PG side of things. Hugh Jackman refused to make The Wolverine R, so why change now?
The Wolverine realistically needs a total reinvention from the ground up. The entirety of Fox' comic book movies need a total reinvention, from the ground up to be honest. But it would be a good start to get a new Wolverine up and running who can logically co-exist with Deadpool, and then start with all the other Weapon X subjects.
So there you go Hugh. What I want is for you to step away and to let someone else do something new, fresh & exciting with the claws. You've had more than a fair shake at the character but now it's time for something new.
